Never have I ever photographed a maternity session for a dog and can I say, bring on the pregnant puppers! This session was so stinking cute and so much fun. Nothing could have prepared me for the challenge it was going to be to get an uncomfortable mama dog to pose, sit still, and basically do what we wanted. Winnie had the vision of Bella’s maternity session in a shire, magical, whimsical - dreamy.
Why I thought this session would be easier than a newborn session or even a maternity session with a human is beyond me, haha. I think the idea of hanging out and playing with a pregnant dog is what sold me.
Not only was this a special day because Bella was so close to her due date, but Whitney told me the story of Bella’s partner - Bear. Winnie brought along a gorgeous photo of Bear to include in Bella’s session. Bear is no longer with us, so this part was so super special and really made the session more than just playing with a pup. Tell me Bella doesn’t look the most proud to be a soon to be mom.
